What is it?
The Jedi Member Database is an extension of the Group Roster in Second Life. We keep it and maintain it because we can have more information on it. Each is explained below:
- Status: It's hard to tell when people are inactive, active or on a leave of absence in Second Life. The database allows us to accurately see who is and who is not around.
- SWT Rank: Fourth Dimension uses a system called "Star Wars Tactics" which in itself, uses a ranking system. By keeping track of your current rank and when you got it, we can make sure you keep ranking up for the time spent role-playing as your character.
- Checklist: One of the hardest thing for Initiates and Padawans to keep track of, is how close they are to ranking up within the Order. This checklist allows you to update it and regularly see where you're standing within the Order.
- Time Zone (UTC): By keeping all of our time zones listed, we can see who will be on at the same times as others. Due to the format as well, Universal Time Code (UTC), it's easier for our members to see, as some of us might live in other countries.
- Master / Padawan(s): This allows the Council to keep track of who already has a Padawan and who is available to take one. This is enormously helpful when new Initiates are having a hard time figuring out who to talk to to be taken as a Padawan.
