The council
What is the Council?
The Jedi Council is the administrative body and brain of the Jedi Order. At any one time, it generally consists of 3-6 Jedi Knights or Jedi Masters.
While the Jedi Council resolves major issues, makes important decisions, and discusses the implementation of changes together, the separate Councilors are capable of handling lesser duties individually. An example of a scenario for which the entire Council must meet would be to debate the signage of a treaty, vote on a expulsion, or analyze a Padawan's submitted trials to see whether or not they meet the prerequisites for their Knighting ceremony. Nevertheless - Councilors are always in touch in character and via OOC means such as IMs and Discord, thus typically collaborating for any issue, big or small.
Every Councilor speaks with the Council's authority, represents the Council, and is capable of disciplining unruly behavior.

How Does the Council Function?
The Council's day-to-day functionality is usually quite simple. We use a variety of platforms to keep in contact with each other (IMS, Discord) and we regularly conduct votes to decide on issues.
It's important to remember that no one Council Member can put an idea into effect without everyone else agreeing to it. That means for every major addition to the rules, regulations or educational content, The Council votes on the matter.
Votes are conducted over 1 - 3 days, depending on the topic. The Council Members are required to explain things in a factual way to ensure no bias is created when the voting process begins.
We use Discord primarily to keep in-touch on all of the on-going issues.
