A Guide to Help Initiates
Getting Started
The first and most important thing to do, is to welcome you to the Jedi Order. You're beginning a long and hard journey which can be very rewarding. Make no mistake, becoming a guardian of peace for the whole Galaxy is a momentous task. This guide is designed for Jedi Initiates, not Applicants.
The Site
Make sure you have a thorough read of the website that you're currently on. It's filled with rules, regulations and important educational information. The two most important places to visit are the Codes of Behaviour and Jedi Member Database section.
The Codes of Behaviour section covers various rules for each of the ranks. It's good to read over that section a few times to make sure you understand what you're about to get into. The Jedi Order is very strict. We're not just an organization, we're a way of life. Therefore your entire life will be under the rules of the Jedi Order. This can even include things such as relationships.
The Jedi Member Database is explained in it's section. We cannot stress the importance enough of that tool. It will help you in finding a Master in the future.

The Checklist
Every rank within the Order has a checklist detailing all of the required milestones to reach a point where you can be considered for a promotion. They are both detailed in the Hierarchy and Jedi Member Database.
Going over each individual milestone for the Initiates:
Going over each individual milestone for the Initiates:
- Knowledge of the Jedi Code & Pillars: You need to learn about the fundamentals to the Jedi. Educational pages can be found here and here on the topic. Once you feel confident, speak to a Knight or Padawan about these topics. If they think you're ready, tick this part off for your Checklist.
- ITC100 (Initiate Training Course 100): You must attend a class run by either a Padawan, Knight or Master covering the fundamentals of a Jedi, relating to Self-Discipline and Responsibilities. These classes are run regularly, be sure to try and attend one of them. If you are unable to do so, speak a Council Member about having a one on one class to pass it. A test is required at the end.
- Form One Training: The basics of light-saber combat are a requirement for all Initiates. Before you reach the level of Padwan, you must be capable of defending yourselves through the Jedi ways. Padawans and Knights are happy to spar all the time. Speak with one of them to get some basic Form One training drills going on. Lessons can be run at times too, it's best to try and attend them.
- Control Abilities: You are required to have basic abilities to control the Force and demonstrate your ability to be connected to it. This could be as simple as practicing meditation and breathing techniques. Seek help in the Archives if you're curious.
- Crystal Hunt: The crystal of your light-saber is what gives it its color. It's one of the most important things to obtain as a Jedi, as it will be your first mission. Knights and Masters run Crystal Hunts regularly, be sure to attend. If you are unable to attend, contact the Council about setting up a one-on-one hunt.
Finding a Master
Finding a Master to help train you can be very difficult. There are a few tips we can give you, but nothing is rock solid. The most important thing to remember, is to be patient. Make sure you inform the Council when you do find a Master.
- Get on the Jedi Database as quickly as you can. Use it to see who is on in your time zone.
- Talk to as many Knights as you can. Quantity is more important in the start. Finding someone who reflects your personality can work well. Sometimes Masters will want to take on a Padawan who will challenge them, usually if the Padawan reflects the Master it is the greatest challenge.
- Be patient. We cannot stress enough that things will take time. Enjoy your time at each rank, they are all different and you don't get to experience them again. Ranking up is nice, but remember that it comes with more rules and responsibilities. Sometimes it's nice to be catered to.
